The sedation really helped. I am a very anxious person, so I asked to be sedated. It was still uncomfortable and I remember gagging, but the sedation took away any feeling of panic. It was not painful. I remember burping while I was there, but not afterwards. The doctor and nurses were all very gentle and helpful and explained everything before, during and afterwards. So, while it was not a pleasant experience, I coped well. Also, it did not last very long, or it didn’t feel very long. My throat was a bit sore the day after but nothing serious.
